The aim of the PSYSCAN project is to improve the care of patients with psychiatric disorders, specially, schizophrenia. This goal will be achieved by developing a neuroimaging-based tool which will help physicians in a clinical setting to resolve key clinical issues in the management of patients with psychotic disorders. Psychosis is a mental disorder characterized by a loss of contact with reality. It encompasses a wide range and variety of different symptoms, which include cognition, mood and behaviour. Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and delusional disorder are examples of psychotic disorders.
